Project directors are the backbone of AmeriCorps Seniors, demonstrating exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to our programs, volunteers, and fellow program directors. As part of our 2025 convening, we invite you to nominate colleagues who have gone above and beyond in their service. Nominees may be eligible for one or more of award categories. Please take a moment to recognize those who make a lasting impact!

Award Categories
Impactful Service Award
- This category recognizes a program director who has made a significant impact on a community by using volunteer service to address a specific local challenge that is also a national priority.
- This individual should have worked to build an ethic of civic responsibility, citizenship, and civic engagement in the community served as part of the AmeriCorps Seniors service.
Innovative Service Award
- This category recognizes a program director who has engaged their volunteers in new service activities or programming that creatively addresses community, volunteer and/or beneficiary/client needs.
- This new volunteer service or method should have made a significant impact on the health of the community or in the life of volunteers and/or their beneficiaries/clients.
Influential Service Award
- This award will be presented to a director who best exemplifies strong leadership qualities and is dedicated to building an ethic of civic engagement, who shares their skills and knowledge with other directors, organizations, or their community.
- This award is a recognition of excellence by one’s peers for an individual who demonstrates vision, leadership, and commitment to older adult volunteer service as the cornerstones to successful AmeriCorps Seniors program management.
Community Resilience Award
- This award recognizes an AmeriCorps Seniors' program for outstanding disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. This program mobilizes volunteers to provide critical support in times of crisis.
- This program will have engaged volunteers in disaster services like shelter operations, food distribution, debris management, or donation management and strengthened community resilience through partnerships, training, and preparedness efforts.
Life of Service Award
- This award recognizes an individual who has spent 20 years in service, which can include time as an AmeriCorps Seniors Director, supporting the promotion of older adult volunteer service as integral to supporting all generations and the health of their communities.
